Roulette Strategy

The house has an edge of 2.63% on almost all bets in the game European Roulette. In American Roulette, the edge of the house is even higher at 5.26%. Therefore, the first important aspect of strategy is to play European Roulette, and not American Roulette, to give the house the lowest edge possible.

Because Roulette is a game of chance with no skill involved, there is really no strategy that makes you a winning roulette player. Another reason for this is that the future outcome of a spin does in no way depend on what has happened in the past. If the last 9 spins all landed on a Red number, the human brain tells us that the ball has to land on a Black number now. But, in reality, the chance that the ball lands on a black number is still just below 50%, just like the chance that the ball lands on Red is just below 50% (because of the 0, which is neither black or red).

Some people also try to use the Martingale strategy, which means that if they lost a bet, they will bet twice the amount of the original bet on the following spin. Meaning that if $5 were bet on the first spin, and you lose, you would then bet $10 on the next spin. This strategy might work for a short amount of time, but once you hit a streak of bad luck, you will no longer to get by with this strategy as each roulette table has a maximum amount you can bet on each spin. If your bet was wrong a couple times after another, and you are always doubling your bet, you will very quickly hit the maximum on the table and you have lost a large amount of money! If this were not the case, everybody would do it and the casino would go broke!!

The only strategy you can really use when playing roulette is to just have fun and betting on whatever you like, in addition to playing only European Roulette. If you are ready to play Roulette, visit our featured casinos listed in the internet casinos section.
